A beautiful gelding, "O Man" is a favorite at the farm both for his handsome good looks and his personality! In Swedish, his name means "unusual" or "unique" - named so for his unique four white socks which sit atop ermine spots, giving him four black hooves! His unique personality is also a given with his namesake, his natural curiosity and bravery are rare qualities in any horse.
Ovanlig's Sire VDL Orame *BA's Misty Morn
Bred with both temperament and talent in mind, O Man has both. His sire is the International Show Jumping stallion VDL Orame, currently being competed by Chris Kappler. His dam is the Bashkir Curly mare *BA's Misty Morn, whose bloodlines include gaited through her sire, and Native American through her dam. VDL Orame has come up the ranks and is proving himself to be a very strong stallion, not only in his own performance but also in being able to produce winning offspring as well. He was Champion of both the Stallion Selection and the Stallion Test, never before achieved by any stallion! As a 6 year old he became Champion of the Stallion Competition and has since gone on to be a successful international competitor. VDL Orame's offspring are now competing successfully themselves, with may Premium foals at inspections as well. VDL Orame is also noted for producing foals with excellent temperaments, a trait hard-won in many Internationally competitive stallions! O Man's breeding boasts many top jumping lines which have had an enormous impact not only on the sport but within all the european studs. Through his sire we see such influential stallions as Indoctro (F2); Capitol I & G. Ramiro Z (F3); Capitano, Caletto II, Raimond & Alme Z (F4); Cor de la Bryere, Calypso I, Ramzes, Cottage Son xx & Ibrahim (F5). The crossing of G. Ramiro Z to an Alme Z daughter is well known for consistently producing winners. O Man's dam is a Bashkir Curly of Native American bloodlines, the breed alone is known for their hardiness/soundess, excellent temperaments, and are frequently hypo-allergenic thanks to their unique coat.

O Man leads, ties, clips, bathes and trims... pretty much catches and halters himself! He was used as a demonstration horse for a lunging clinic last summer and has had continuous work in leading and lunging. O Man is ready to be started under saddle! Has not been ruined by heavy work too early on and is now in continual training. It looks as though he is reaching the end of his growing period, but may experience a little more height development through the end of this year. Lovely, light and lofty gaits. Will be a very enjoyable horse to train, compete, trail ride, and love!

With his bold personality I could see him excelling in endless areas with the right rider... he also *loves* being showered and groomed... Beautiful curly coat in the winter, sheds to a smooth/lightly rippled coat in the summer. Mane length varies from year to year between short and whispy.
