The Critical Equestrian Series

Get Specific
The Critical Equestrian Series Logo

A great saying goes, "If you don't know where you are headed, chances are good you'll get somewhere else." This applies absolute in the world of horses as well as life. If we are not specific in our direction we cannot achieve it with any consistency. How do we develop a plan that supports our goals? That is exactly what The Critical Equestrian™ Series is for!

Planning For Your Specialty

Just like a goal needs specificity, so does the area of focus. That is why The Critical Equestrian™ Series has divided itself into six specific areas of focus:

Critical Riding™ Workshop

Our Critical Riding™ workshop focuses solely on you as a rider. Learn how to recognize your strengths and weaknesses, discover what drives you passionately as a rider, and develop a plan to achieve your dreams! Perhaps you want to pursue competitive riding to the highest level, but are uncertain the steps needed to successfully pursue that goal. Whatever your motivation, you can learn to critically apply the foundational skills learned in The Core Workshop™ to yourself as a rider!

Critical Training™ Workshop

Training is often undertaken by a wide myriad of horse-riders, from those with decades of experience, and those with only the most basic introduction to the horse. Critical Training™ is designed to give both established and new trainers an opportunity to critically assess themselves as trainers, as well as the horses under their tutelage. Have the skills on the horse end but uncertain how to advance the business end of training? Or perhaps the opposite, in your desire to learn how to skillfully navigate improving your training skills with horses. Both of these aspects and more are covered in this workshop!

Critical Purchasing™ Workshop

Purchasing horses is often a task wrought with emotional speedbumps. We have a tendency to fall in love instantly with the first horse who shows a smidgen of promise, or feel completely discouraged when horse after horse prove to be completely wrong for us. Critical Purchasing™ pushes the principle of taking the emotional component out of the buying equation, leaving solid facts about each potential horse, thus simplifying the process and increasing the likelihood of success. No one likes to buy a new horse only to have to turn around and re-sell it, unless that is their intention! Learn how to get specific with your

Critical Selling™ Workshop

In a market of continual flux, the best way to maximize your potential of selling your horse not only to a good home but also at the asking price, is to be critical in your approach to advertising him. Even the best horses can sit on the market for years when marketed poorly, and the worst sold almost instantaneously with a good market approach. Which end of the spectrum do you want to be on? Critical Selling™ approaches its goals from several directions, including how to research your best market, the steps needed prior to marketing the horse, and how to best handle potential customers when they begin inquiring about your horse. All of the things needed not only to successfully sell your horse, but also build countless relationships and develop a solid reputation that continues to benefit your future sales!

Critical Conformation™ Workshop

The ability to quickly assess a horse's conformational strengths and weaknesses and understand how they affect the horse's potential performance, soundness, and how it affects his movement as well as what discipline will best suit him, are all skills that can benefit every horse person no matter their area of specialty. Conformation can often be challenging to learn through trial and error, or simply relying upon another person's assessment. The Critical Conformation™ workshop is a simple yet advanced opportunity not only to learn about conformational strengths and weaknesses, but to also learn how they affect the horse beyond the superficial attraction we find to horses with good conformation. This is an excellent workshop which works well with the other workshops in The Critical Equestrian™ Series. In particular, this workshop is recommended for those attending our Critical Breeding™ workshop!

Critical Breeding™ Workshop

Not only is breeding a large endeavor to any who takes it seriously, it is also a huge responsibility in our care to ensure that the horses we breed are suited to their projected market and sound for their careers. Aside from the planning involved in the individual matings, breeders must also become successful in marketing, promoting, competing, and constantly assessing their breeding horses. Touch decisions are required to keep improving the quality of the horses bred, and often the hard work involved is the only reward breeders reap in having a breeding program. Looking to maximize the success of your breeding program, from developing specifics of your breeding goals to learning how to best market your horses and increase the profits of your efforts in order to continue improving? Critical Breeding™ workshop gets serious about the elements needed in a successful breeding operation. Perfect for both experienced breeders looking for a step up, as well as those just dipping their feet into the world of breeding. This workshop goes very deep, while we keep it structured in a way that is clear and simple!
